He reluctantly agrees to help her, but her efforts are complicated when the student begins an affair with a British journalist.

After a bloody confrontation, the pair follow the plot to an unstable Central Asian country where allies are rare. The cop’s faith in the rule of law is constantly assaulted. The more he succeeds, the deeper into the muck he gets.
